Agency-based professional training

Facilitate organizations to integrate CBT into their services. Program and outcome evaluation are also conducted.

Public Lectures

Conduct public talks to disseminate information on how CBT can help people suffering from different types of emotional and mental distress.

Continuing Professional Enhancement Programs

Provide continuous support for our graduates and other professionals in their ongoing learning and application of CBT.

Counseling Services

Provide individual and group counseling and workshops for people experiencing emotional distress.

Certificate Course in Cognitive Therapy Training

Provide training in both the theory and practice of CBT to professionals and organizations.

Brief Biographies of Board Members

Prof. Wong Fu Keung, Daniel

Board Chairman of the Institute

He is the Chair Professor of Mental Health and Counselling, Department of Social Work at Hong Kong Baptist University and teaches mental health, social work and counselling. He is a certified cognitive therapist and a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapists, a mental health social worker and a clinical psychologist. He has rich clinical experience and is a popular trainer and speaker in CBT and mental health issues.

Dr. Chung Lai Ping, Catherine

Board Vice-Chairman of the Institute

She is a Lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Social Administration of the University of Hong Kong. Since 2007, Dr. Chung actively involved to conduct CT therapeutic group and clinical training. On the other hand, she also provides individual counseling service for the people in need. She has great interest in using cognitive intervention for handling the emotional problems, traumatic experiences, parenting stress and addiction issue. She is the Clinical Fellow of the Institute and she is an approved counselor and supervisor of HKPCA.

Ms. Cheng Po Yee, Ivy

Board Vice-Chairman of the Institute

She is the Nurse Consultant of Community Psychiatry in Hong Kong East Cluster. Over the past ten years, she has been working for the General Adult in the field of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Community Psychiatry. She is the current leader of Community Psychiatric Service in service delivery model; service quality and clinical management. She is also actively involved in various working groups at cluster levels and HAHO in relation to the community mental service development, CPNS operational group, mental health direct and advanced nursing practice, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, emotional focus therapy etc.

Ms. Cheng Yin Ping

Board Honorary Secretary of the Institute

RSW, is the Institute’s Clinical Supervisor. She is an experienced social worker specializing in pre-school training for children with special needs, and working with parents with children with or without special needs. Ms. Cheng has substantial experience in supervising trainees in using cognitive intervention for handling the emotional needs of parents who have children with special needs.
